Healthy for Baby

Here we have compiled some simple fresh recipe ideas for you to try when weaning your baby as well as giving you some ideas for healthy, interesting meals for your growing baby. Remember, for the first six months of your baby’s life, breast milk or formula milk provide all the required nutrients he or she needs. Even if you start introducing solids at four or five months, these foods are no more than ‘taste sensations’ and shouldn’t mean that you reduce your baby’s milk intake.

Baby 6 - 9 Months

Weaning your baby onto his or her first solid foods can be a very rewarding - if somewhat messy - experience! Here you will find simple recipes for fruit and vegetable purees that should make your baby’s journey into solid food simple, straightforward and nutritious.
  • Recipe Creamy Pear Puree (Baby 6 - 9 months)
Baby rice is an excellent first food. Your baby will feel right at home with its milky taste while it is very easy to digest and perfect for baby’s fledgling system. It can be eaten on its own or mixed with the fruit puree you made above.
  • Recipe Creamy Carrot Puree (Baby 6 - 9 months)
The strong flavour of root vegetables may not appeal to your baby. One way to encourage new tastes like these is to mix with baby rice - just as we did with the fruit puree above.
  • Recipe Vegetable Puree - Carrot (Baby 6 - 9 months)
Puree a mild flavoured vegetable, such as a carrot, and use one ingredient at a time and for a period of a few days initially – just to ensure that your baby doesn’t have an allergic reaction to any of these new, exciting foods.
  • Recipe Fresh Pear Puree (Baby 6 - 9 months)
Fruit Purees make great first meals and are the perfect way to start weaning your baby onto solids. Start with a single sweet fruit like pears or sweet apples and as your baby grows accustomed to individual tastes you can mix fruits to create new flavours.
