These tasty delights are perfect little starters or appetisers!
Serves 6. Preparation & Cooking time: 15 - 20 minutes plus chilling time (approx 2 hours)
Ingredients
350g of assorted mushrooms
4 smoked bacon rashers, cooked
2 tablespoons of cream cheese
1 large white onion
1 garlic clove, crushed
Oil & butter to fry
Salt & Pepper
Fresh herbs of your choice

Step Description
1 Sauté the chopped onion, garlic and mushrooms in a hot pan with some butter and oil until coloured
2 Season the mix well, then add the chopped fresh herbs and pop into a food processor with the cooked bacon
3 Proceed to blend to achieve a relatively smooth mix
4 Allow to cool, then add in the cream cheese and mix well
5 Serve the cooled paté on hot buttered toasts – delicious!

Phelim’s Top Tip:

You can easily make this as a vegetarian dish instead – just use 4 tablespoons of toasted nuts instead of the bacon.
